Time to Catch Up

It is time to catch up on a lot of things that have been happening and what is going to be occurring over the coming weeks and months.

Right now the pain from my feet and legs have you can say tripled from the more normal levels. The pain is really bad right now and both feet are so swollen that I can’t even wear a pair of actual shoes, I have to wear my slip-on flip flops so I have something to protect my feet. Not that it is a major problem right now as I am still in lockdown until Saturday, and then hopefully all this COVID-19 shit I have been dealing with for nearly 6 or 7 weeks will finally be over once and for all.

Even when I do go out once this total lockdown is over I still have to be really careful due to my already fucked immune system I am still at risk of getting it again if I come into contact with someone that has it. My problem is each time I get it, it gets worse each time. So there will still be a lot of time spent at home. Also, not like I can go to the club for lunch or the pool for a swim as everything is in lockdown from the State and Federal Governments still. Even though they are now slowly reducing the restrictions.

My stress level as of late has been through the roof and I have also been getting a lot more sleep than normal as I have been having to have more anxiety medication to get through each day, which is driving me insane. So I have been playing a lot of Diablo 3 and Tower!3DPro (PC Games) as these have been helping with my stress, but I can only play them for so long.

Found out some very disturbing news over the last couple of days that is doing my head in. But nothing I am prepared to go into at this time as it would make the situation possibly worse. Just for now, I am just going to leave it as it is and take this one day by day until I have no choice but to fully get involved.

After over 6 weeks in lockdown right now my small place looks like a cyclone has hit it. So this is something that I have begun working on. But again, I can only stand on my legs so small periods of time and as a result, it is taking a while to get things ship-shape again since I have lost all support through Hireup (Yes, I am naming the company).

So let me fill you in on Hireup. They are a company that I pay to have support workers either come and take me out, do shopping, collect medication, cleaning, pretty much anything I need when I need it. Now, the first time I contracted COVID-19 was from one of their employees after 3 straight days of me being around him with the final day with over 4 hours in my small unit. He was doing a bit of coughing, but nothing out of the ordinary so I wasn’t worried.

He messaged me a few days later and told me. I went mental at first. Then pretty much straight away got things rolling from my end. Straight on the phone to my case-workers and then onto my Doctor where at first I was not permitted to be tested as I had no symptoms. But I had to self-isolate. About a week in I was getting symptoms and was tested and came back positive.

I informed Hireup of the situation through direct email and phone calls. They did nothing. They didn’t even reply to the emails. Yesterday out the blue I get a phone call from them wanting the text messages as proof (which they already have in the email). I told them to check their email system from weeks ago when they were informed and did nothing. Then they emailed me and said until this matter is resolved (which it is as I don’t want fuck all to do with this worker and he knows it) they have terminated my account with them.

Upon seeking legal advice I have found out they can not legally do that. The NDIS has been informed (not by me) and now there are lawyers involved. So this is going to get messy. But I am not worried I have other options and other services that I can use to get things done. So it doesn’t really bother me. It is just annoying that since this is not my fault and they refused to do anything that they terminate me and do nothing to the employee. Well, I can assure you this will not be the end of it from my part that is for sure. Information I have is that I can sue Hireup as a company as the support-worker was or actually is one of their employees. So this is something that I am seriously considering at the moment.

Anyway, it’s 12.25am Friday and I have things to do later and I want to play a bit of Diablo 3 before my night time medication fully kicks in and I try and get some sleep. So I will write more updates soon.
