New Specialist Update

So at 2.30pm on Wednesday 9th January 2019 I had to go to Hornsby to see a new specialist. I was extremely anxious and my anxiety was through the roof. This is a normal thing for me when seeing a new specialist. I see enough of them as it is and when I start seeing a new one it makes me nervous.

But really I had nothing to worry about. He was a very good doctor and he knew his stuff. This specialist is about my psoriasis. A skin condition that I have all over my body. He informed me that really the only thing that is going to help and maybe get rid of my condition is weekly injections. However these are very expensive  and our Medicare system will not cover the costings for them unless you have tried everything else.  And there was one last thing that I had tried, which I started that night.

But he was honest with me and said he didn’t think it would work and expected I would get same bad side effects as I did with the other medications I had to try. And I am feeling the effects of this and fuck I feel sick. I have to go back and see him in 2 weeks and then we will begin the Medicare process to get me onto the weekly injections, which is what I need because of how bad my condition is.

Anyone who knows me actually knows how bad this condition is all over my body and know how much grief I put up with it. The pain, the itchiness, it just never goes away. So I hope to God these injections will actually work and they have helped so many people and now I have to hope that they will also help me too.

Time will tell. I will keep you updated on the progress as this continues to progress …
