It’s Thursday evening, which means my usual Friday routine is just around the corner!
This week, I’ll be having Bodie with me, as Chaice is away. I’ll also have Bodie for our usual weekend shift, although we’re making a small change to the schedule this Sunday. Instead of our normal shift, we’ll be doing a longer 10-hour shift so I can visit my sister.
We originally planned to take everyone to Taronga Zoo, but unfortunately, with the rain, that’s no longer an option. We’ll have to save the zoo trip for another time. Thankfully, my sister has some alternative plans for Sunday, so I’m looking forward to seeing what we end up doing together.
Dinner tonight was nothing fancy, just a simple meal of tempura chicken nuggets and a can of Coke. Sometimes, keeping things easy is exactly what you need!
Medication Update
I finally collected the rest of my medication boxes today. It’s frustrating when the pharmacy doesn’t have everything in stock at the same time, as it means making another trip the following day.
My medication routine runs on a 28-day cycle, and I always try to give the pharmacy a week’s notice so they have enough time to order everything in. Despite that, this month has been a little more complicated because of a nationwide shortage of Endone. As a result, I’ve had to use the generic brand instead.
Hopefully, the supply situation will return to normal by the time I need my next month’s medication. It would certainly make things easier!
Planning Ahead for My 50th Birthday
One of the things I need to discuss with Bodie tomorrow is my plans for turning 50 in January. It’s a milestone birthday, and I’d really like to make the most of it by spending some quality time with my sister and my nieces.
My sister would love me to stay with her for a few days, which would be wonderful. I usually only get to see them in person for around four hours every couple of months, so having a few days together would be a really special opportunity.
Bodie is already booked for my usual shift on Thursday, 7 January, so the next step is to see whether he’d be happy to help me organise the rest of the visit.
Ideally, I’d like him to pick me up from my sister’s place over the weekend, probably on the Sunday, and bring me home. I’d also like to arrange another 10-hour shift so there’s plenty of time for us to enjoy lunch and have a decent break at my sister’s before heading back home.
Of course, I’ll need to speak with Bodie first to make sure he’s comfortable with the arrangement. Once we’ve discussed everything and he’s happy to go ahead, I can let QUE know so the final plans can be organised.
I’m hopeful he’ll be happy to do it, especially as he’d be working anyway, but I’ll have that conversation with him tomorrow before making any assumptions.
For me, the biggest thing is having the opportunity to spend a few extra days with my sister and nieces. Family time is important, and with our visits usually being so short and spread out, this would be a lovely way to celebrate my 50th birthday and create some special memories together.
Until Next Time
So, that’s a little update from me on this Thursday evening. Tomorrow brings the start of another familiar Friday routine, along with a conversation about some exciting plans for January.
Although the Taronga Zoo trip will have to wait, I’m looking forward to Sunday and, hopefully, getting my 50th birthday plans sorted out over the coming weeks.
I’ll keep you all updated as things come together.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog, and I’ll be back with more updates soon!
