State of Emergency

My state of New South Wales (NSW) as of today has been put into a State of Emergency for the next 7 days by the NSW Government.

Tomorrow the area that I live in is under a Catastrophic Alert due to the bushfires that are currently engulfing the state. And with tomorrow the high temperatures and strong winds are going to make tomorrow like hell. Hopefully, there will be no evacuations in my area. But the organization that I am residing under have been in touch today and informed the residents about the plans they have in place for us if anything does happen, which we are all hoping doesn’t come to it.

However, a plan does need to be in place as this is the first time a Catastrophic Alert has been put into effect since it was introduced back in 2003. To put it simply when a Catastrophic Alert is issued it is the worst of the worst. There is no level higher. Some people in my area have already left and gone to families and friends and others to evacuation points already, just in case. Me, I will remain at home. I am not worried about the temperature as I have my air conditioner. There is also no direct bushland directly near home. And as long as my windows and doors are kept shut to keep the smoke out it should be fine. For days we have been covered with the smell and look of smoke outside. But tomorrow things will be the worst.

When Steve rang me this afternoon he informed me that the NDIS has been denied for a second time and they are requesting further documentation, which makes it so hard to obtain these as I have moved state to state, town to town and seen so many different doctors and specialists over the last more than 2 decades. Medical Centers and Doctors are allowed to destroy files after 7 years of no contact. And as for this inter time, I was homeless and constantly moving trying to obtain documents back prior to 2002 is going to be difficult. Steve has a few ideas, so we are going to work on these in a few days time.

But I must be honest I am not surprised. This is the normal pattern. Everything starts going so well and so many changes are made for the better and then everything starts going to shit and I end up back on the streets and living my old lifestyle. It just usually happens a lot quicker than now. Usually, I only last somewhere between 2 and 3 months. This is now at like 19 plus months. The longest I have been anywhere.

Also, I found out late this afternoon that because of the Catastrophic Alert tomorrow that Jeffrey’s funeral tomorrow has been postponed till either later this week or early next week. Just have to wait to hear when the new day is set. This is something I had been expecting.

Apart from my normal treatment sessions for this inter week, there is nothing else I have on. Which is actually a surprise. Well, apart from Friday, but that is an every week thing, chemist and food shopping. But the following week is totally booked out. So going to be a busy week.

There is so much more going on at the moment but I will post about them in another post probably tomorrow.
