Another Friday has arrived, which means it is time for the weekly routine that has become a regular part of my life. While some people might find routines boring, I find there is a certain comfort in knowing how the day is likely to unfold, especially after the uncertainty and stress of recent weeks.
The day will begin with my support worker making a trip to the chemist to collect a new course of antibiotics that my GP prescribed yesterday. Unfortunately, this became necessary after issues arising from my recent hospital visit on Wednesday. It is frustrating when things do not go according to plan, particularly when it comes to healthcare, but at least my GP was able to step in and ensure I received the treatment I need.
While he is out, he will also pick up my vape before heading back home. He cannot collect the weekly grocery shopping until 9:00am, so there is a bit of juggling involved to make everything fit into the morning schedule. Once he returns, breakfast will be on the menu, and as usual, it will be one of my favourites – bacon and eggs on toast.
This weekly breakfast tradition has become something I genuinely look forward to. Whether it is with Chaice or Bodie, it is a simple but enjoyable way to start the day. There is something comforting about sitting down to a good breakfast and having a chat before getting on with everything else that needs to be done.
After breakfast, the focus will shift to preparing this week’s meals. On the menu this week is a chicken stir-fry with noodles, which should provide several meals and make things a little easier over the coming days. Having meals prepared ahead of time is a big help, particularly when mobility and health issues can make everyday tasks more challenging than they once were.
As for the weekend, I have not given too much thought to what Bodie and I might be doing tomorrow. Usually, we head out somewhere, grab a coffee, and get out of the house for a while. At the moment, however, I am simply taking things one day at a time and will see how I am feeling when Saturday arrives.
One idea I have been considering recently is adding a vlog section to the website. For those unfamiliar with the term, a vlog is essentially a video blog that allows content creators to share experiences and updates through video rather than written posts. At this stage, it is only an idea, and I have not yet worked out exactly how it would operate or what type of content I would include. Nevertheless, it is something I find interesting and worth exploring for a future update to the website.
Another feature that will be arriving soon is a photo gallery. The plan is to upload photographs taken during my outings with Bodie and, on the occasional weekend when Bodie is unavailable, with my backup support worker. Adding a gallery will allow visitors to see some of the places I visit, the experiences I have, and a little more of life beyond the written blog posts.
Before finishing this post, I wanted to address something that some readers may have noticed. At the bottom of each blog post, there is a note mentioning ChatGPT. I feel it is important to be transparent about how I use it.
Every post begins with my own thoughts, experiences, and writing. Once I have written the post, I place it into ChatGPT and ask it to rewrite it in a more detailed and professional manner. I then carefully read through the revised version before publishing it. If it accurately reflects what I am trying to say and maintains the message I want to convey, I will publish it.
In other words, ChatGPT is not writing my blog posts for me. The stories, experiences, opinions, and content are all my own. The tool simply helps me present those thoughts in a more polished and professional format that better reflects the direction I want my website and blog to take moving forward.
Thank you, as always, for following along and supporting the journey. I appreciate every person who takes the time to read my posts and share in both the challenges and the small victories that life continues to bring.
