First Gym Session

I might be honest, right now I am hurting. After last nights unexpected start to my gym sessions. I literally was not going to start until 8am on Thursday morning with my support worker. But as last not progressed I said to myself “fuck it, I am going to the gym” and I did. What made it even a bit scarier for me was the fact that I was doing it alone.

So I ordered an Uber and it was off to the gym. As mentioned before I have been told by my Doctor and several others as I am just a beginner at the gym and with the issues with my leg and other health issues I just have to take things slow. So I did, at first.

This was the routine that I did for my session.

  • Treadmill – 10 minutes – 3 km/ph – Flat Incline
  • Short Break
  • Treadmill – 10 minutes – 4.5 km/ph – Flat Incline
  • Short Break
  • Treadmill – 10 minutes – 5 km/ph – Flate Incline (and this really was pushing the limits moment for me)
  • Hydro-Massage Bed 7-minute session to end with

Before I left home I did set a gym playlist onto my iPhone Music and I was listening to that throughout my session. So that I know helped me push myself a little bit more due to the type of music I have on the playlist.

Afterwards, I was hurting a bit. But this morning OMG I am hurting. And I am about to soon head off and have an Ultrasound done and then I want to go to the gym again later today, again it will be alone and pretty much doing the same thing as last night.

For me, it was a big step out going out on my own and being able to do this. The good thing was there were not many people there, so that did make things a lot easier for me to handle. I actually also only had to have a half dose of my anxiety medication the inter time I was, which was before I left home. But I did have extras in my bag in the locker just in case. But they were not needed which was a great thing.

Also, I got to wear my brand new expensive shoes to the gym last night for the first time. And they were perfect. Nice and comfortable and it was really like walking on a cloud.

So, the only thing I want to do now is to make myself an excel document where I can record what I do and for how long etc. so then I can keep track of my progress throughout my new journey. So that is all from me for now as I have to start getting ready.
