Coffee, Cold Weather, and New Ideas

As I sit down to write this post, it is 5:45am and the outside temperature is just 4.6°C. To put it simply, it is absolutely freezing this morning.

Like many early mornings, I have something playing on my second monitor while I write. Today it is a YouTube documentary about Tutankhamun (King Tut) and Howard Carter’s remarkable discovery of the young pharaoh’s tomb. History has always been an interest of mine, particularly fascinating discoveries such as this. I enjoy learning about ancient civilisations and the stories behind some of the world’s greatest archaeological finds, so documentaries like this are an easy choice while I work on my blog.

Staying warm has been the priority this morning. The heater is running at 26°C with the computer room door closed to keep the warmth in. I have even resorted to wearing my arthritis gloves, a beanie, track pants, and a jumper. Anyone who knows me will know that this is far from my usual attire. Most days I am perfectly comfortable in shorts and a T-shirt, regardless of the season, but today’s cold weather has certainly convinced me to rug up.

Before starting this post, I also had a look through this week’s Woolworths catalogue to plan Friday’s shopping. Unfortunately, there was not a great deal that caught my attention. One item that did stand out, however, was deli chicken breast on special for $9 per kilogram, which is an excellent price. I am thinking I might ask Chaice to make one of my favourites this week—a chicken and noodle stir-fry—which should make good use of the special.

Looking ahead, I have also been thinking about expanding the content on my website. Over the coming weeks, I plan to introduce a series of posts focused on specific topics of interest. I have not settled on exactly what those topics will be just yet, but they will be subjects that genuinely interest me and that I believe will make for enjoyable reading. Each series will have its own dedicated category, making it easier for readers to find content on the subjects that interest them most.

For now, though, my first challenge is simply staying warm while I finish my morning coffee and continue writing.

    Hey Zac 🙂

I’ve been reading your blog on and off for years now, always checking to see how you are doing and I am forever inspired by the resilience you have displayed during your various trials and tribulations and your sheer will power to enjoy life the best you can despite everything. I’ve watched you fall and get back up fighting harder so many times and I want to just say I am proud of you as a person.

I apologise for the fact I tend to come and go ever so briefly, and just want you to know that it’s only because I get fixated on projects/games/work that I tend to become a social recluse half the time. Even my IRL friends I forget to message for months etc – it’s my greatest flaw.

Anyway, I am around and I just wanted to break the ice by messaging as I read you activated the comments 🙂

    Wishing you well as always,

And remember, Theres coffee in that nebula !

    Phil.
